How to play
GroundHoppr is a daily football geography game. Every day, every player on the planet gets the same five clubs. You see the crest and the name — nothing else — and you find the stadium on a bare map.
The loop
- We show you a club. “Where do they play?”
- Drop your pin on the map. No city names, no labels, no hints — just coastlines and borders.
- Confirm. We reveal the real stadium and how far off you were.
- Five rounds — Group Stage to The Final — then your total out of 25,000.
Scoring
| Your miss | Points |
|---|---|
| On the stadium | ≈ 5,000 |
| Same city (~15 km) | ≈ 4,900 |
| Neighbouring city (~100 km) | ≈ 4,300 |
| Same region (~400 km) | ≈ 2,700 |
| Wrong end of the country (~1,000 km) | ≈ 1,100 |
| Wrong continent | ≈ 0 |
The curve is exponential — precision is everything. Answer fast and a speed bonus adds up to +250 per round (under 4 seconds). It never subtracts: take your time, lose only the bonus.
The daily challenge
- One challenge per competition per day, resetting at 00:00 Spain time (Europe/Madrid).
- Picks are deterministic — identical for everyone, no matter the device.
- A club can’t come back two days in a row; there’s a cooling-off window.
- Difficulty climbs each round: world-famous first, deep-cut last.
Fair play
- Your pin locks on confirm — no take-backs.
- Refreshing won’t reset your speed timer.
- The map never reveals the answer before you commit.
